Join MEC and AFA to hear Al Fohrer speak about his career as former CEO and CFO of Southern California Edison. Please find his bio below:

Mr. Alan J. Fohrer was CEO of Southern California Edison (“SCE”) from 2002 to December 2010, one of the largest electric utilities in the United States. During his 37-year career at SCE, Mr. Fohrer represented the electric utility industry in significant regulatory and legislative proceedings. He Co-Chaired the Edison Electric Institute’s Energy Delivery and Reliability Committees and also served on the Boards of Directors of the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations and the California Chamber of Commerce. In 2000, Mr. Fohrer was elected as President and Chief Executive Officer of Edison Mission Energy. Mr. Fohrer also served as Executive Vice-President, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of both Edison and SCE since 1995 till 1999.

Mr. Fohrer is a Member of the Viterbi School of Engineering Board of Councilors for the University of Southern California. Mr. Fohrer earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in civil engineering from the University of California and received an M.B.A. from California State University Los Angeles.
