You're always looking for ways to understand the ups and downs of the economy and its long term impact on your business, but sometimes your 'crystal ball' is a bit murky, or worse yet, MIA. But what if the tools to assess the vagaries of the economy and what they mean for your business have been available all along?

In this upcoming class, presented by the Purdue University Krannert School of Management Executive MBA, learn how to utilize national wealth accounting to better analyze and forecast in the overall economic environment. Participants will take away tools to evaluate the underlying productive base of an economy, and gauge the sustainability of economic trends and the implications for their business.

Kevin Mumford

Associate Professor of Economics, Purdue University Krannert School of Management

Kevin J. Mumford is an Associate Professor of Economics at Purdue University. He earned a Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University in 2007. Professor Mumford teaches courses in labor economics, public economics, managerial economics, and econometrics at the undergraduate, MasterÔÇÖs, and Ph.D. levels. His research has focused on taxation, labor supply, poverty, fertility, and the role of human capital in measuring national wealth. He has published research articles in many journals including the American Economic Review, the Review of Economics and Statistics, the National Tax Journal, Environment and Development Economics, and the Journal of Econometrics.

Professor Mumford has received research grants from the Institute for Research on Poverty, the Upjohn Institute for Employment Research, the John M. Olin Program in Law and Economics, the Purdue Research Foundation, and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. He was awarded the John and Mary Willis Young Faculty Scholar Award for research excellence in 2010 and was nominated by his college for the Purdue Exceptional Early Career Teaching Award in 2014. Professor Mumford is the Director of Undergraduate Programs for the Department of Economics and is the faculty advisor to the Purdue chapter of the economics honor society Omicron Delta Epsilon.
