Power and authority are strong forces in the workplace. Conventional wisdom is that those with authority have power, and those with power have authority. But the savviest leaders know that you can have power without having authority. How do they do it? What is their secret?

In his one-hour webinar, University of Pittsburgh faculty member Dave Lebel will discuss the art of persuasion and influencing others. These tactics are designed to enhance your work environment, help you improve yourrelationships with colleagues, and increase your productivity.

Professor Lebel will cover the following topics in his presentation:
• Influence others in situations when lacking "authority" over them
• Use "powerless speech" more effectively than "powerful speech"
• Effectively manage relationships with difficult co-workers and superiors
• Pitch innovative and creative ideas from within a skeptical work environment
• Seek advice from other executives without incurring costs to your reputation
