In August 2017, HYPEBEAST publications noted that “Los Angeles, California is experiencing a retail revolution” with the rise of streetwear in LA. As a Los Angeles institution, USC is uniquely positioned to influence and participate in this rise of urban and streetwear brands. To articulate this value proposition, the Marshall Retail Management Association in partnership with the Marshall Sports Business Organization and Marshall Outdoor Club is hosting an Athletic Apparel Mini-Conference entitled Activewear in LA that will bring together industry leaders, recent graduates, and current students to join in a conversation about the intersection of streetwear, fashion, fandom, and Los Angeles.
