Hello Marshall Pride!
In getting ready to take on the role as your President, I just listened to the audiobook of Bob Iger's The Ride of a Lifetime (at the behest of our fearless champion and outgoing leader Ximena!).
I too highly recommend it to everyone, especially as part of the beauty of business school is having the time to each think about and develop our own leadership styles, but I want to focus on a short quote from Iger: "Great is often a collection of very small things."
A simple thought, but one I couldn't help but immediately connect to our mighty group: though the core of our club is lean, our impact reverberates.
And I mean that in everything we do. From our daily support of one another, to the abundant leadership positions across the school (echoing Ximena's letter, it bears repeating: this is queerest group of student leaders Marshall has ever been lucky to have!), we show up for each other, our classmates, and our community beyond USC's walls unlike anyone else.
I'm excited to see what our excellence together means for the next year of Pride. Our voices and visibility have never been more important—especially as we fight for our trans, queer, and nonbinary siblings—and everything over the next year will be undergirded by this. I know we are going to continue to do great things, both big and small.
Thank you so much for being you, for standing as a part of this incredible community (allies very much included!), and for being along for the ride.
Yours,
Henry
