Message from outgoing President Ximena Bobadilla:
Dear friends,
Today is a bittersweet moment as I compose my final message in our monthly Marshall Pride Newsletter. While I eagerly anticipate the next chapter in my life, I cannot help but feel a touch of sadness at the thought of parting ways with our close-knit and resilient community.
I could easily write a whole book on the countless lessons, friendships, and personal growth I have experienced during my time with you all. However, for your sake, I will keep this message succinct and heartfelt.
Thank you for your unwavering patience, for nurturing and supporting me, and for entrusting me with the responsibility of leading our vibrant community. My journey with Marshall Pride has been the most meaningful and transformative aspect of my time at USC, and I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such an empowering and compassionate group.
This year has been one of remarkable growth and achievement for our club. Our membership has soared to over 135 members, we have successfully increased our funding, won the ROMBA Case competition a third year in a row, and witnessed a record number of 1st year Pride members stepping up as club presidents for next year. We are here, we are visible, and we are leading.
As I pass the torch to our new president, Henry Woodward, I am filled with excitement and confidence for the future of Marshall Pride. I wholeheartedly believe that the club is in capable hands, and I know that Henry will continue to build on our legacy of love, acceptance, and equality.
To each and every one of you, I want to say how much I believe in your potential and your ability to make a difference. I am honored to have been a part of your journey and look forward to a lifelong friendship, serving as a mentor, and cheering you on from the sidelines.
Remember, we are more than just a club; we are beacons of inspiration for our community. One of the most profound realizations from my MBA experience has been the importance of visibility and seeing ourselves represented in the positions we aspire to reach. We are here to show others that they are accepted and that there is a space for them here.
To those stepping up to lead Pride next year, remember that time spent on our community is never time wasted. I assure you that if you invest your energy and passion into our community, you will witness the fruits of your labor flourish.
Keep on planting.
Make a difference.
With love and gratitude,
Ximena Bobadilla
