The Golden Briefcase

Challenge for Charity (C4C) is a 35-year-old non-profit organization started at Stanford University that now boasts chapters at nine top West Coast MBA programs. The purpose of this organization is as simple as it is important: to develop future business leaders with a lifelong commitment to community involvement and social responsibility.

The 2018-19 MBA Challenge for Charity enters its 35th year in which top West Coast MBA programs will compete in fundraising, social, volunteer, and athletic events in pursuit of the coveted ‘Golden Briefcase.’

The Golden Briefcase is awarded to the school that achieves the highest score in the following categories:

  • Most hours volunteered on a per-student basis throughout the year.
  • Most funds raised on a per-student basis throughout the year.

Here at USC Marshall, we take that mission seriously. The 2017-18 school year, was our ninth year to win C4C! In the 2017-18 school year Marshall MBAs raised over $177,477 a C4C record, and volunteered over 8,486 hours throughout the school year.
