Southern Hedge Fund Competition

The Southeastern Hedge Fund Competition offers participants the opportunity to apply theory to practical strategies.

Student teams submit hedge fund strategy proposals that are evaluated by a panel of investment professionals. The top five teams will be invited to Atlanta for the final competition in May. The finalists will share an anticipated $20,000 in scholarship prizes

• The Southeastern Hedge Fund Competition is open to teams of students at all colleges and universities in the world.
• All students enrolled at the university at any point during the 2025-2026 academic year are eligible to participate.
• Each team is composed of one to five undergraduate and/or graduate students and a faculty advisor from the students’ college or university.

Team Size: 1-5

Timeline:

• Friday, Dec 5: Application Due
• Friday, Mar 6: Submit proposal to Southern Hedge Fund
• Tuesday, Mar 31: Notification of Finalists
• Monday, May 4: Final Competition in Atlanta

Prizes: 

• First: $10,000
• Second: $5,000
• Third: $3,000
• Two Finalists: $1,000 each
