Hello Friends!
I hope you all have had some time to get some rest (or some well-deserved adventure time!) before starting your summer experiences. I wanted to send out this email to keep the entire group in the loop on some exciting updates regarding Marshall Pride.
1. We have a new Marshall Pride Board! (see detailed roster below) I believe we are in excellent hands this upcoming year, and the excitement from next year’s leaders is precisely the momentum we need to take Marshall Pride to the next level.
2. We will be bringing back monthly newsletters! These monthly newsletters will keep the community in the loop regarding Marshall Pride events, USC LGBTQIA+ events, and events in the greater Los Angeles area. I will also be taking some time in our monthly newsletters to address relevant issues and news from that month regarding the LGBTQIA+ community. My hope is that we can start connecting more as a community and support each other through the increasingly difficult times that we are experiencing as a whole.
3. We are building upon our partnership with APLA! Previously, Marshall Pride has been involved with APLA Health. For those who don’t know much about APLA Health, they are the second oldest AIDS organization in the U.S. and the largest one to serve the Los Angeles area. We will be providing regular sign-up opportunities to be able to volunteer at their Koreatown ‘pantry’ helping distribute groceries to people affected by AIDS in our community. We will also be running a supplies drive, as well as building up momentum at Marshall for the Los Angeles AIDS Walk in October (more details on this later)
4. We have a new club website, Instagram, and LinkedIn group! Please check them out and give our social accounts a follow! The website needs new pictures from last year -- if you have any pictures you would like to submit so that I can post them on the website. Please email them here.
I could not be more excited for the next step of Marshall Pride. We are primed to do great things as a community next year, and it is my greatest honor to have been elected to lead our group this upcoming school year.

At Marshall, I have learned that ‘Clarity Creates Speed’. I hope that by providing clarity regarding our board and their responsibilities will make it easier for everyone to work together this year to make Marshall Pride even better.
Fight On!
