Hi Fellow MOC'ers,
I know most of you are sad that the weekend is up. You have to wait one whole week until the next tailgate and in between then lies classes and assignments and you first years have the marketing midterm. But fear not, we here at the Marshall Outdoor Club have some nifty, fun things up our sleeves to help you day dream in class.
1) Learn To Surf - Our first official MOC event will be this upcoming Sunday afternoon in Manahttan Beach. Getting tired of being asked if you know how to surf after people find out you live in Southern California? Well, you will FINALLY be able to answer their question in the affirmative once you sign up for the Learn to Surf event this Sunday (September 22 for those of you that are calendar challenged). Join the MOC at the beach where we will have wet suits, surf boards, and instructors ready to "get you barreled." Which I think is a cool way to say "surfing.
For the low, low price of $25 (or $40 if you aren't a member or want to bring a non-member) you get an hour long surf lesson with the wet suit, board rental, and potentially decent looking instructor included.
All you have to bring:
- Swimsuit
- Towel
- $3 in quarters for the parking meters
- As stated above, surfboards and wetsuits are provided, but surfers are welcome to bring their own equipment
2) Hike Mt. Baldy - More info to come. But just google Mt. Baldy and imagine the beautiful scenery that will be available once you hike this magnificient mountain on Sunday, October 6th.
3) Camping at Joshua Tree - Join MOC for a weekend of camping, climbing, and smores in one of the most beautiful places in California, Joshua Tree National Park. This is a weekend event that will start on Friday, October 11th and end on Sunday October 13th.
RSVP below!
Have a great week fellow Marshallites!
