Welcome to BEA!

Hello new (and less new) members,

I wanted to take a minute to welcome everyone to BEA.

The Board and I are thrilled that you have joined this group of entertainment enthusiasts, whether it is about film, television, live events, music, sports, or other!

Whether you're looking to learn more about the entertainment business, build lasting relationships, or relaunch your career opportunities, we are here to help!

We have so much in store to ensure you have all the skills and tools you need to learn about the entertainment industry; and we will have some fun in the meantime, as well. BEA is focused on setting you up for success in the long term, while we will focus on the current state of the industry, we also want you to build your network and prepare for recruiting as you grow.

As entertainment recruiting tends to be more of a long-term process, we have spaced our programming evenly throughout the semester. We want to give you the tools to get you started with your coffee chats and your research into your place within this industry, so feel free to have a look at the BEA Handbook

Stay tuned for upcoming events and initiatives:

More to come on Campus Groups:

  • Welcome Happy Hour
  • Sports 101
  • Entertainment 101
  • Music 101

On a personal note, I am so excited to be spending time with you all this year! Please don’t hesitate to reach out for a coffee chat, with any questions about the club, or ideas to make our community even stronger.

This is going to be a great year!

Best,

Blanca Keller Rodriguez

BEA President 2024 - 2025

The panelists for this year's event include Bela Bajaria, Chief Content Officer at Netflix, Jason Blum, CEO of Blumhouse, Stephen A. Smith, and more. Here are the details:

Most of our students will choose to attend the full-day event on 10/10. If you’re planning to go, don’t forget to apply for the conference fee reimbursement, which can cover up to $250 for one conference per academic year.

Please refer to this sheet if you’re interested in upcoming conferences and available funding opportunities. We’ll keep it updated throughout the year.
