The purposes of Omicron Delta Epsilon are as follows: • International recognition of scholastic achievements in Economics • Provide a platform for intellectual discussion • Provide the ability for students to have closer ties with faculty • Provide the ability for students to have access and develop closer ties to professionals within Economics and other related fields • Provide the ability for students to create closer ties with other students, within the Economics department as well as across disciplines • Sponsor academic, social, and professional events for members and non-members • Allow undergraduate and graduate students access to publishing promising papers through The American Economist, the journal of Omicron Delta Epsilon
