I did not always know that I wanted to go to business school, but I have always known that I wanted to work in entertainment. When I realized that pursuing an MBA would propel my career to a higher level in the field, it became crucial for me to choose the program that would best align with my career goals. USC Marshall, with its unparalleled alumni network, high-level industry connections, and unique curriculum opportunities, quickly became the clear choice for me.
It is an honor for me to take the reins of the Business of Entertainment Association for the 2017-2018 school year. Our membership is comprised of a large and passionate group of industry enthusiasts across a variety of media sectors, and I continually learn from each of these classmates every single day. The industry has gone through a rapid transformation in recent years, and fostering a club with as actively engaged members as the BEA does keeps us all at the forefront of trends and developments that will ultimately serve to support our professional aspirations.
This next year will continue much of the successful programming that has bolstered USC Marshall’s entertainment community in the past, including our annual E2 Conference, Sundance Film Festival trip, fall Lunch & Learn series, mentorship program, and alumni coffee chats. New initiatives are in development as well, like strengthening our ties to USC’s other graduate programs and pushing to further develop our reach beyond Southern California. Our new board is already working hard to find new ways to uphold BEA’s place as one of USC Marshall’s leading industry clubs.
We aim to serve as a resource for all interested parties, from prospective students to alumni and professionals looking for further engagement with the next wave of industry leaders. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or comments you have for our board members or myself. My primary goal for the BEA is simple: to represent USC Marshall as the premier MBA program for the media and entertainment landscape. I am confident this message grows more apparent with every passing year.
