Having members with a variety of skills sets and backgrounds will make your team much stronger.

Get started early! You'll still be working up until the very end, but the more you do ahead of time, the more prepared you will be.
-
Always have data to back up your ideas, and be prepared to make adjustments to your recommendations as you uncover the data.
-
Try to know your audience as much as possible. Will you be presenting to industry executives? Academics? Others? Tailor your presentation and discussion to the specific audience.
-
Prepare for the Q&A portion of the presentation by playing devil's advocate.
-
Dress professionally at all competition related events, such as welcome receptions, meet and greets with company representatives, and awards dinners.

Get at least a few hours of sleep the night before your presenation.
