USC Student Organization Recognition Process

All clubs must complete the USC student organization recognition process through engageSC. The recognition process is typically open from August 1st to mid-September and it's best to complete the process as early as possible. All student organizations seeking to obtain funds from the Graduate Student Government must be officially recognized.

To access the re-registration form you'll login to engageSC and navigate to your RSO page where you'll see a link to click on the correct form. If you need a visualization, you can follow this workflow: How to Re-Register your RSO on EngageSC.

Some of the documentation needed include:

  • Constitution
  • Updated roster on engageSC with your current board members
  • Updated USC Credit Account Information
  • Certificate of completion for at least five (5) members of your student organization who have completed the Hazing Prevention Module (Pro-tip: identify members of your board who are completing this step for other clubs as well)

If you're not able to update your student organization's roster on engageSC, request to join the organization on engageSC. Once requested, email stuacts@usc.edu with:

  • Your student organization's name (full name, not acronyms)
  • Primary contact name

GSG (Graduate Student Government) Finance Orientation Meeting

In addition to the USC student organization recognition process, either the president or VP Finance for each student organization (or both) must attend a mandatory GSG finance orientation meeting in order to be eligible to apply for GSG funding. The MGSA VP Finance typically schedules a special GSG finance orientation meeting for Marshall graduate student organizations in September, so pay close attention to emails you receive from the MGSA VP Finance for more details.
